Community-centric
conservation in Africa

Partnering with communities to preserve, restore and sustainably manage coastal ecosystems across West Africa.

What we do

We partner with communities and governments throughout West Africa to originate and develop high integrity carbon projects, with a focus on
blue carbon.

Our projects seek to preserve, restore, and sustainably manage coastal ecosystems, financed through the issuance of high-quality carbon credits. We’re working on some of the first large-scale blue carbon projects in Africa. They have the potential to exemplify what it means to be community-centric and financially sustainable.

Our first blue carbon projects are underway in West Africa

Our mangrove protection and restoration projects in Sierra Leone and Guinea are aimed at addressing the practical and technical challenges that hamper large-scale blue carbon project development in the region.

Our Partners

What makes us different

We bring together people, experience, and relationships that are uniquely suited to developing projects and building and scaling the blue carbon market in West Africa.

Our diverse team of professionals and advisors has extensive experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, marine science, and carbon project development, all supported by a leadership team that has been at the forefront of creating and implementing practical, private sector solutions to development challenges for decades.

Our work is powered by strong relationships with communities (including over 13 years supporting communities in the Sherbro River Estuary in Sierra Leone), civil society partners, governments, and organizations dedicated to combatting climate change and improving the lives of people in coastal West Africa.

We aim to set the standard for community-centric carbon projects in our region by operating at the highest ESG standards, deeply engaging with community and government, and offering long-term sources of income to stakeholders through equitable benefit sharing agreements that can be replicated by other project developers.
